In the 21st Senate District, Republican Albert Robinson is returning to Frankfort after defeating Democrat Amie Hacker.
Robinson won by nearly three thousand votes. The unofficial results are Robinson with 20,490 votes to Hacker's 17,583.
Robinson told us he is looking forward to going back to Frankfort as State Senator. He also thanked his supporters.
"I'm so thankful that they chose to believe me and the work I have done because my motto is and was, God, gun, country, and family and that's why I support God first, and those others not in that order for the flow, that's the spectrum I operate with." Robinson said.
Robinson says he is looking forward to representing small business in Frankfort.
Amie Hacker also thanked her supporters after the election.
"I want to first congratulate Albert Robinson on his win. I also want to thank all my supporters who helped me put stuff in envelopes. I had great friends who went with me. My family who I took time away from and most of all, just the people who supported me and was there for me during thin and helped me through it all," Hacker said.
Hacker tells us she is considering running for a county office in Laurel County in the future.
