Man faces charges for posing as mine electrician

WHITESBURG, Ky.(WYMT)- An eastern Kentucky man is facing charges after police say he posed as a mine electrician in an underground mine in Letcher County.

Court documents show James A. Cress of Totz worked for the Cumberland River Coal Company from May 2009 to July 2010. It says Cress claimed he was a certified electrician, and initialing books saying he tested and examined equipment. If convicted Cress could face up to five years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.
