According to Sara George the Information Officer for Highway District 12, officials reported problems with the following roads:
KY 7 shut down at Beaver Rescue Squad due to a mudslide that’s washed out of a hollow, road impassable; closed to all traffic; highway department officials estimate 6-8 hours cleanup time.
KY 550 west at WKCB Radio is under water at this time.
One lane of KY 1697 is under water at the 2 mile marker.
Two more roads under water in Letcher County:
KY 1811 is flooded at the mouth of the road off KY 15.
Also off KY 15, KY 3401 behind Parkway Motel at the culvert is impassable.
KY 1426, Prater Creek: there is a mudslide on the mountain that has blocked the entire road; closed to all traffic; highway department officials estimate midnight or later before even one lane might be open. Flaggers are at the site.
Also in Floyd County, Arkansas Creek is now impassable, KY 3381.
KY 160 at the spot locally known as The Pond (permanent high water signs installed here)
Abbott Creek (KY 1427) between the 6 and 7 mile markers (permanent high water signs installed here, too)
KY 1428 in front of Mays Truck Parts near the state highway garage at Allen; high water signs and cones have been set up
