Parts of Letcher county without water, county officals now offering free bottled water

Updated: 02/24/2015 - Last night, Letcher county officials received a shipment of water which is being given out at two locations. Judge Ward says those affected by the water outage may come by the Neon or Letcher fire departments and pickup the water, each household must bring a copy of their water bill in order to receive this water while supplies last.

Customers wary of proposed Kentucky Power rate hike

Posted: 12/16/2014 - Kentucky Power wants the Kentucky Public Service Commission to approve a base rate increase of 12 percent. If approved, the utility says residential customers using an average of 1,362 kilowatt hours per month would see their monthly bill increase about 22 dollars. Some Kentucky Power customers say their energy bills are growing fast enough as it is.
