YMCA to open facilities to World Equestrian Games guests

People coming to central Kentucky for the World Equestrian Games will be able to stay active while they're visiting.

The YMCA of Central Kentucky will provide its facilities to athletes and guests for free.

During the games, they'll be able to get guest access to the Y's facility branches, which include Beaumont Centre Family Y, High Street Y, and North Lexington Family Y.

"With YMCAs located in 124 countries worldwide, this is a great opportunity for our association to welcome the world to our community," said Jim Kelsey, marketing and communications director for the YMCA of Central Kentucky, said in a news release. "We're excited to welcome new friends from all over the world while continuing to serve this community."

YMCA officials say to get free entry to the facilities during the games, athletes or visitors just need to show their World Equestrian Games pass or ticket to a staff member at the Y.

There will be no limit to how many times a guest can use the facilities. People living in Lexington, who are also attending the games, will also be allowed free access.
