There's a lot of cleaning up to do today for workers at a Lexington church and daycare.
Someone broke in overnight and wrecked havoc, but walked away empty handed.
Now authorities are looking for whoever is responsible, as the community begins cleaning up.
It was not the typical start for workers at Milk and Honey Daycare, when they arrived early Friday morning to find a mess inside.
"One of my employees called me by phone and said that somebody had broken in--and glass everywhere--so I hopped in the truck and came over," says Bill Pittard, the daycare owner.
The vandal started out by breaking into The CROSSing church, which is above the daycare, and that's where the most damage was found.
"They went through a window, and then broke a door to get into the sanctuary, and then broke another door to get into an upstairs office that was locked," says Bill Moyen, a church administrator.
Now shattered glass, broken locks and door hinges, and remnants of the crook's attempt to find something to steal, are left behind.
"Just vandalism basically, because they didn't get any money. We don't keep money and the church doesn't either," Pittard says.
"Nothing was stolen that I can see," Moyen says.
Moyen says this was the second time in the past few years that the church has been broken into.
Police detectives are collecting evidence from the scene, including fingerprints left behind.
Milk and Honey Daycare is open and operating as normal.
