An investigation is underway after someone made threats against a central Kentucky middle school.
Lexington Police say a man called 911 Monday, threatening to hurt people at Leestown Middle School.
Police responded to the school, set up a perimeter, and searched the school grounds.
Police say nothing was found at the school.
School officials tell us security at Leestown Middle was already heightened Monday after an inmate escaped from the Blackburn Correctional Complex.
Extra security remained at the school until the end of the day as a precaution.
Police are trying to figure out who made the threatening call, but say they do know it was from a cell phone.
School leaders did send home a letter explaining the incident to parents and students.
Students and teachers can expect an increased police presence tomorrow as well at the school.
