Southland Christian Church has set a deadline to decide if it will buy the old Lexington mall site.
The church will decide by august 30. Their senior pastor says he sees no reason why they won't go ahead with the deal. The Lexington Herald leader reports Southland received an estimate of $30-million dollars to cover the purchase, renovation, and construction costs. Church leaders have said they want to build a worship center, a children's center, and possibly some classrooms on the site.
