Closing act for Spotlight Lexington announced

They're finalizing plans for the big Spotlight Lexington festival downtown.

Thursday morning, Lexington Mayor Jim Newberry announced hip hop artist Rob Base will close the festival, that's running in connection with the World Equestrian Games.

Base will wrap up several days of concerts with a show October 10 at Cheapside Park.

The mayor says the entire festival will offer a little something for everyone.

"Throughout Spotlight Lexington, we will have free activities for children, we'll have some wonderful Kentucky arts and crafts that will be available for purchase and viewing, and we will have great food available throughout the downtown area throughout the entire period of time," Mayor Newberry said.

The 17 day festival begins September 24.
