A vote is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon on whether to rename a street in honor of a fallen Lexington Police officer.
Family members of Bryan Durman, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident in April, asked to have Hilo Street renamed Durman Drive.
A city committee originally voted down the name change, saying they didn't have the information they needed.
Committee members changed their minds after getting input from Durman's family members.
Hilo Street leads to the police department's central roll call center, where Durman reported for work everyday.
If the city council approves the street name change, Hilo Street could become Durman Drive as early as October.
