Parked cars damaged during police chase

An overnight police chase ended in a Lexington neighborhood early Thursday.

People living along Hugging Bear Lane, near Liberty Road, woke up to the damage left behind.

Lexington Police say they tried pulling over the driver of a car on Fortune Drive, near Winchester Road, but he wouldn't stop.

Officers followed him onto Liberty Road and into the Graftons Mill subdivision.

That is where police say the suspect, Kevin Anderson, bailed out of the car without putting the vehicle into park.

The car then rolled into a few yards and hit two parked cars.

"We woke up to the cops knocking on the door. Apparently, somebody jumped out of their car down the street and our car was hit," said Felicia Manley, who lives where the chase stopped.

"We're fine. We're just glad it wasn't the neighbor's house (that was hit)", Manley said.

Anderson is charged with violating parole, fleeing and evading police and various traffic charges.
