Second person arrested for robbery gone wrong

Lexington Police have made a second arrest in an attempted gas station robbery where the clerk turned the tables on the would-be thieves.

Police booked 27-year-old Nicholas Burchett into the Fayette County Jail on two robbery counts.

Detectives say Burchett and another man, Adam Ditmore, tried to rob the BP on Clays Mill Road last week with a stick. The clerk took the stick and hit the thieves with it as they ran out.

The pair is also accused of hitting up the Marathon station on Nicholasville Road, later that morning.
