Rival schools come together to help build house

Students from Lexington Christian Academy and Lexington Catholic are working together today to help build a new home.

On the field, they are the fiercest of rivals. But today, they're putting that aside and picking up some hammers.

"We know all the kids there, we love competing but it's all about having fun and this is what it's all about," said Adam Bowe, a student at Lexington Catholic.

The two schools will spend next week competing in six different sports. During the week they'll also be competing to raise money, money that will be used to help finish a Habitat for Humanity house. The future homeowner, Kambale Chongo, moved here from Kenya three years ago.

Rivalry Week will come to a close next Friday at the football game between Lexington Christian Academy and Lexington Catholic. The Chongo family will be there watching.
