Nearly five months since a Lexington Police officer was killed in the line of duty, the community is vowing to never forget his sacrifice.
The Fraternal Order of Police awarded Officer Bryan Durman with the Medal of Honor Wednesday night at the Police Memorial in Phoenix Park downtown.
He was killed in a hit and run back in April.
The medal was presented to Officer Durman's widow.
It is the highest award given by the FOP.
The case of the man charged with murder in Officer Durman's death, Glenn Doneghy, is set to return to court Thursday for a status hearing.
