FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky Office of Employment and
Training says the unemployment rate fell in 84 counties between
December 2009 and December 2010.
A statement on Thursday says Fayette and Woodford counties had
the lowest jobless rates with 7.5 percent each. Magoffin County had
the state's highest unemployment rate at 18.8 percent.
The statistics are based on estimates of unemployed people who
are actively seeking work. They do not include those who haven't
sought employment within the past four weeks.
