A Lexington woman who has become known for overcoming the odds is now fighting a new battle.
Lois Turner announced Wednesday night that she's been diagnosed with lung cancer.
She's the wife of Larry Turner, who died in the crash of Comair Flight 5191 near Blue Grass Airport in 2006.
Lois Turner testified after the crash to the NTSB about the need for safety changes, and she also helped develop the Flight 5191 memorial at the UK Arboretum.
Turner says in a Facebook post that her cancer diagnosis was a shock, but she's ready for treatment and is praying for a full recovery.
