Double shooting victims well known on Lexington music scene

We're learning new details about the victims of a double shooting in Berea Monday.

Friends say 25-year-old Zachary Flower was killed, and Kevin Price injured, during the incident. Police have arrested a suspect, 27-year-old Matthew Denholm.

We've learned Flower and Price were roommates, and aspiring recording artists. They were already well known on the Lexington music scene.

Price and Flower performed in the hip-hop group Strange Tang.

Both men were planning to be part of a charity event next month at Two Keys Tavern in Lexington.

Price's friends say they were shocked to hear the news of the shooting, particularly because they knew their friend as an easygoing college graduate who was serious about his future as a musician.

Loved ones say Strange Tang had developed a loyal following, and Price hoped to tap into that goodwill to help raise money for God's Pantry and Toys for Tots at an upcoming performance with other local artists.

Organizers say that holiday charity event will go on as planned on December 2 to benefit God's Pantry and Toys For Tots, just as Price had hoped.
