A new theatre group in the Bluegrass is getting some help from a Hollywood actor.

Actor and Kentucky resident Steve Zahn is helping The Rep with its inaugural show in Lexington.

The Rep will present "Smackdown for the Christmas Crown" Friday, December 16-Sunday, December 18, at 7:30 p.m. each night, at the Lyric Theatre on East Third Street.

The show is described as a slightly dysfunctional holiday musical, "that will leave you thinking your friends and family are normal."

Zahn and artistic directors Diana Evans Pulliam and Robyn Peterman-Zahn talked about the upcoming show on 27 NEWSFIRST Midmorning Monday.
