Two pets killed in mobile home fire

It's a very active scene out on Greenwich Pike where fire officials are trying to figure out the cause of a fire.

"We received the call as an electrical fire, a possible electrical outlet on fire. When we got here, we had heavy fire involvement our companies could see from several miles away," said Batt. Chief Brent Frizzell.

A road normally full of scenic views, instead busy with emergency vehicles as they searched the badly burned home for occupants.

"There were no occupants inside. However we were able to rescue a kitten, and it appears to be doing fine at this time."

Despite that positive moment, Investigators say one dog and cat did not make it out.
Officials say for the crews to have any chance of handling, they had to make due with what they had.

"Fortunately, we were able to shuttle water from the closest hydrant which was two to three miles away," Frizzell said.

Officials are still waiting to get a hold of the homeowner to notify them of the loss.
