Last-minute Christmas shoppers crowding stores

While many people will be on the roads today, traveling to be with loved ones, many others will be at malls and shopping centers, rushing to get that last-minute Christmas shopping done.

Only two days remain before Christmas.

We went to Hamburg Pavilion Friday morning, where stores were packed with shoppers.

Many stores around central Kentucky are offering extended hours Friday, to help shoppers finish their holiday wish lists.

Some people we talked to don't mind the hustle and bustle, seeing it all as part of the season.

"That's part of the enjoyment of Christmas, getting out, enjoying the camaraderie with other shoppers in stores. It's a merry time of the year," shopper Lee Holcomb said.

However, Lexington Police say tempers flared and they had to be called to the Dick's Sporting Goods at Fayette Mall Friday morning, after some people waiting in line to buy the newly released Air Jordan shoes overwhelmed security.

Police say no one was injured in the incident at Dick's, and no one was arrested.
