After three hours of work, crews were able to clean up fuel that caused slick conditions on several roads.
Police had asked drivers to avoid part of West Reynolds Road and Wellington Way in Lexington because of the spill.
Fuel spilled all over the road near the roundabout, just down the road from Meijer. Police describe the road as being like "an ice rink."
Some of the fuel made it over towards Clays Mill Road as well. We also received calls into our newsroom reporting slick spots in the Fayette Mall parking lot in front of Dick's.
Lexington Police said that around six Friday night, the spill had been completely cleaned up.
Even though the roads are now open, officials still want to advise everyone to drive safe and be cautious when going through the area.
There's no word yet on what caused the fuel spill.
