Donations being collected for animals impacted by tornado outbreak

Efforts are underway to help the four-legged victims of last week's tornado outbreak.

Dozens of pets became lost or injured during the storms.

Sheabel Pet Care Center in Lexington is now collecting dog and cat food to help shelters taking care of those animals.

They say there's also a real need for collars and leashes.

"A lot of people are coming in, volunteering to take care of them (the animals)... and walk them... and they are really appreciative for what they got and I felt like we can help them out because we are so blessed in Lexington," Dr. Michelle Jude of the Sheabel Pet Care Center said.

If you want to donate, you can drop off items at Sheabel Pet Care Center off Richmond Road.

They will take the donations to West Liberty next weekend.
