LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - His buzzer-beating skills made him a legend at UK.
Now, former basketball Cat Tayshaun Prince has been honored with a wine bottle.
On Friday night, Elk Creek Vineyards launched its Tayshaun Prince commemorative bottle at Fayette Mall, and he was on hand to greet fans.
The bottle benefits the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's child nutrition program.
Prince, who now plays for the Detroit Pistons, told us he's always happy to come back to the Bluegrass.
"The fans treated me with unbelievable respect, I went out there and gave it my all," Prince said. "And whenever I come back to town, they show that same support. So whenever, I can give back, and whenever I can do things like this, it's kind of a no brainer for me."
This was the first in a series of bottles Elk Creek Vineyards plans to release, honoring UK legends.
