2012 Scholarship awards program Rotary Club of Lexington

The Rotary Club of Lexington will hold its weekly meeting Thursday, April 26, at 12:00 p.m., at Fasig-Tipton, 2400 Newtown Pike. The special guests will be the recipients of the Rotary Club of Lexington’s 2012 Scholarship Awards Program.

The All-Fayette County High School Academic Team is comprised of (Abigail) Archer Newell, Bryan Station High School; Mackenzie Jones, Henry Clay High School; Kenneth Edward Freeman, Lafayette High School; Davin Marie Hazard, Lexington Catholic High School; Victoria Bastin, Lexington Christian Academy; Grant Boggess, Paul Laurence Dunbar High School; Jamie Rosenstein, Sayre High School; and Charlotte Eckmann, Tates Creek High School.

Receiving college and university scholarships are Nika Larian, Transylvania University; Laura C. Miller, Transylvania University; Hanna Marie Burgin, University of Kentucky College of Agriculture; Luke C. Glaser, University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences; Emily K. Strange, University of Kentucky College of Education; Scott Ashcraft, University of Kentucky College of Engineering; Jamie Elisabeth Mann, University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy; and Sophie Elena Jones, Bluegrass Community and Technical College.

Other award and scholarship recipients are: OLLIE HURST AWARD: Alexander Christian Yaden, Transylvania University; 2012 ROTARY SCHOLAR: Todd William Montgomery, Paul Laurence Dunbar High School; and JOHN R. BRYDEN GREAT TEACHER AWARD: Connie Waespe, who teaches at Lafayette High School.
