Kentucky Lottery regional manager charged with lottery ticket fraud

Kentucky State Police say 55-year-old Jeffrey Riley, of Lexington, redeemed or validated 1,800 lottery tickets that had been reported missing.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police have charged a Kentucky Lottery official in a fraud case involving missing lottery tickets.

Kentucky State Police say last month, the lottery began investigating how 1,800 lottery tickets went missing.

Police say the investigation found that 55-year-old Jeffrey Riley, of Lexington, either redeemed or validated those tickets at a Georgetown location on three separate occasions.

Riley is a regional manager for the Kentucky Lottery.

Police charged Riley with three counts of fraudulent use of a lottery ticket, a Class C felony. He was booked in the Scott County Detention Center, and later released on his own recognizance.
