LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Crews with Lexington Streets and Roads say despite the long winter we've had, they're prepared for more snow.
Crews started placing salt brine down on the roads Monday morning, and they're prepared to work some long hours.
"We are going to bring in some crews around midnight, and have them ready at least to take care of bridges and overpasses. Because even with a trace, those things will need to be treated," Rob Allen with Lexington Streets and Roads said.
Allen says the salt brine helps keep the snow from sticking to roads.
"That's one of our more effective snow fighting techniques, very inexpensive," Allen said. "This isn't expected to be a rain event to start with, so it should help us out quite a bit."
Despite the back-to-back rounds of wintry weather, Allen says Lexington Streets and Roads crews are not running low on salt.
