High winds in Lexington took a toll on trees, power lines, and lights and also caused power outages.
Strong winds took a toll on plenty of trees, power lines, and lights on Wednesday.
A street light hanging high above Alysheba Way came tumbling down just after noon. Trees in the area also came down taking down power lines. A portion of Bryan Station Way was shut down for part of the morning, where a tree took out a power line.
The biggest impact in Lexington from the winds today it seemed were power outages in the area. Hundreds of people in the Landsdowne area were without power for most of the day. Initially, KU officials say there were more than six-hundred people without power. They were able to restore power to two-hundred of the homes, and say they expect to get the rest restored by nine or ten o'clock tonight.
