The Helzberg Diamonds store in Fayette Mall stayed busy over the weekend with shoppers for the holiday, but that didn't stop three people in the store from stealing two diamond rings.

In surveillance video you can see a woman and man first speaking with a sales associate.

"Using the store that they lost a wedding ring and were looking to replace that ring and wanted to look at some diamonds", says Lt. Garry Sennett with Lexington Police.

Another man in the store, who appears to later on be with the couple, is also talking to an associate.

"Spends most of his time distracting a male employee", says Lt. Sennett.

Finally when the associate walks away from the couple to speak with another customer, the couple strikes.

"The male reaches over the counter and grabs two rings valued at approximately $10,000", says Lt. Sennett.

Lexington Police say the Helzberg Diamonds store wasn't the only one the three went in that day. Authorities say they also stopped at Jared, a jewelry store next to the mall.

"They appeared to be looking in Jared's probably trying to do the same thing, but just weren't able to pull it off", says Lt. Garry Sennett.

The three still got away with the two rings from Helzberg Diamonds however, and now police are hoping you can tell them who they are.

If you have any information about this crime, you are asked to contact Lexington Police, or Crime Stoppers at 859-253-2020. You could receive a reward if information you give leads to an arrest.
