Crime Stoppers: Security officer hit by van while stopping theft

Lexington police are looking for a woman caught shoplifting at the Gabriel Brothers store on Richmond Road in late October.

"She concealed some of the merchandise from the store. She was caught on video by one of the loss prevention security officers", says Detective Matt Sharp with Lexington Police.

The woman left the store with the items and the security officer goes after her.

"There was a confrontation with her in the parking lot upon which there was a short struggle", says Detective Matt Sharp.

The woman then jumped into the passenger side of a van. Police say the male driver attempted to sideswipe the security officer, but hits him causing minor injuries.

"As he was trying to catch up with her to get some of the merchandise back from her", says Detective Matt Sharp.

Police say they know who the owner is of the van, but they aren't cooperating with police. If you have any idea who the woman is in the attached photograph, please contact Crime Stoppers.
