Road crews out ahead of snowfall

It seems that old man winter sure is here to stay and that has area road crews working overtime to help keep you safe on the roads.

They're out in full force ahead of the predicted snowfall.

The snow is expected to starting falling around midnight in Western Kentucky.

It'll hit Central Kentucky right around 5:00 AM.

That means the snow will still be piling up during he morning commute.

Lexington Mayor Jim Newberry as well as state and local roads officials warn that rush hour is going to be a headache.

To help alleviate what is sure to be slow going, snow plows will be out from midnight through the afternoon scraping and salting.

Because the trucks will be out during high traffic times authorities are warning you to be careful when driving around the snow clearing vehicles.
