Cities across Kentucky will commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Monday with programs, marches and other events.
In downtown Lexington, the annual freedom march was scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday.
It begins at the Lexington Center, then goes down Vine Street to Rose Street and onto Main Street and back to the Lexington Center.
A commemorative program, set to the theme of "MLK 2010: The Unfinished Agenda" will follow the parade.
The annual unity breakfast took place early Monday morning in Lexington.
In Mercer County, a march was scheduled for 10:15 a.m. at the old Harrodsburg High School.
A celebration is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Paris-Bourbon County Library on High Street.
