Mine operator is indicted

An eastern Kentucky mine operator is indicted on charges he violated federal safety mandates.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports 57-year old Alger B. Jent of Kite in Knott County allegedly installed roof bolts that were too weak, too short and too far apart in the CSA mining number two mine near Jenkins.

The bolts were discovered by M-SHA investigators in June, 2008.
