A local car thief doesn't make it too far. A pregnant woman, who is the victim, sends her friend to chase the suspect down.
Police are led on a chase through part of North Lexington trying to find a stolen truck.
"Went out to warm up the truck... The gentleman jumped in and stole the truck!" explained Sarah Guevara, the victim.
Guevara, who lives on Delcamp Drive, was about to take her kids to school.
"Got about half way and noticed the truck revving. I thought there was something wrong with the truck!"
That's when she says the suspect, Justin K Jones, pulled away.
"He wasn't able to drive a standard real well so that gave me time to scream for help," she said. "A friend of mine came out and jumped in my truck to chase him down."
Her friend caught up with Jones on Fourth Street. He says Jones was behind the wheel of the stolen pick-up. Guevara's friend was driving her Chevy. The two men had a minor accident, and that's when police say Jones tried to bail. But he didn't get far. Guevara's friend tackled Jones.
"At that point, my friend made a citizen's arrest," Guevara said.
Al;though she got her trucks back, Guevara says all is not well. She's eight and a half months pregnant with a baby girl and all the excitement caused contractions.
" We're OK."
She says she hasn't decided what to name the baby, because she thought she still had some time to think about it.
Jones was taken to the hospital to be checked out. He'll be charged with Robbery.
