Lexington Fayette Animal Care and Control officers say they've found a dog, who'd been missing for over a year.
The Chihahua, "Kahani's Angel," escaped from her Houston-area back yard in October of 2008, according to the owner. But Roberta Bradford says she has no idea how the dog ended up in Kentucky.
"I just can't wait to squeeze her," Bradford explained during a phone interview.
After receiving a complaint, a Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control Officer found the tiny dog wandering in the streets of a Lexington neighborhood.
The 4-year-old dog was micro-chipped, so after a few phone calls, Bradford was tracked down in her Houston-area home.
Animal Care and Control officer, Sgt. Nichole Gibson, says she always hope for more happy endings like these.
"Unfortunatley, we find a lot of dogs who don't get reunited with their owners because they aren't micro-chipped. It is very important to get your dog micro-chipped."
"Kahani's Angel" flew back to Houston and arrived after 3 this afternoon.
