A Lexington family experienced a terrifying night inside their home when they were held at gunpoint -- all while a child was asleep.

The man and woman say the robber came into their home on Spring Station Drive, near Bryan Station Road, looking for pills early Monday morning.

When the woman living in the home told the robber they had no medication, the gunman demanded cash.

"I turned the corner and he said, 'Gimme your cash,'" one of the victims told 27 NEWSFIRST.

The woman then gave the robber cash from her purse.

Police think another man was waiting nearby and helped drive the gunman away in a dark-colored Dodge Intrepid or Charger.

Police say the robber got inside through an unlocked front door.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

Police say the suspect is a white man in his mid-20's, around 5'10", and 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt and a dark hoodie.

The victims also say he had facial hair.
