A crash sent two people to the hospital Thursday afternoon, after the driver of a car slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting a semi.
Lexington Police say the tractor trailer pulled into the car's path on Georgetown Road at Kearney Road.
Police say the car's driver lost control when he tried to stop.
The car careened across the road, and into a fence, with two people inside.
"At this time, it appears both were not wearing the seat belts, which in turn would cause serious injury," Sgt. Scott May, of Lexington Police, said. "They've both been taken to UK Hospital, where they're being treated right now."
Police are still investigating the crash.
No word on the conditions of either person injured.
