Boys' Sweet 16 Tournament tips off

The Boys' Sweet 16 Tournament is now underway at Rupp Arena.

Wednesday's first game, between Warren Central and East Carter, tipped off around noon.

Warren Central won that game, 55-36.

In the next few days, thousands of fans will pack Rupp Arena to watch their favorite teams play.

Vendors are also excited about the games.

Team IP Sports, out of Florida, sells Sweet 16 merchandise at Rupp Arena every year.

They say basketball fans in Kentucky always buy a lot during the tournament.

As for those fans, there are plenty that go to the schools playing, or are just at Rupp Arena to watch people they know play.

Three other games are scheduled for Wednesday.

Ballard defeated Shelby County 90-80.

Newport and Christian County will tip off around 6:30 p.m.

Scott County and Corbin will play in Wednesday's final game, scheduled around 8 p.m.
