The search for a man police say escaped from a Lexington prison has ended.

Police arrested 31-year-old Jason Brashear Wednesday morning in Georgetown, several hours after they say he escaped from the Blackburn Correctional Complex.

Georgetown Police caught him near a playground at Providence Christian Academy. We're told some pre-schoolers at the school witnessed the arrest.

Corrections officials first noticed he was missing around 7:30 a.m.

Lexington Police and Kentucky State Police began the search for Brashear a short time later, beginning in the Masterson Station neighborhood, which sits just across the street from Blackburn.

Brashear was later tracked to Georgetown.

Officials at Providence Christian Academy say no children were harmed. Administrators did have to speak to the pre-schoolers who saw the incident.

They've also alerted parents about what happened.

While some parents with Providence Christian Academy expressed concern, but others say it was a lesson well learned.

Brashear was taken to the Scott County Detention Center. He returned to Blackburn Wednesday afternoon.

Brashear is serving a 19-year sentence for robbery and other charges. Corrections officials say he would have served out his sentence in June, 2011.

He now faces an escape charge.
