First, Big Blue fans waited hours for the bottle, and one week later, they waited for Coach John Calipari's prized signature.

1,200 tickets sold out in less than a minute for Friday morning's event at Keeneland.

Calipari arrived around 8 a.m. to sign the special edition Maker's Mark edition bottle, bearing his image.

"I'm happy to be here and be a part of this," Calipari said. "Our fans are crazy! They were out at three in the morning in line to get bottles with a guy with a big nose on the front and a get an autograph. Its neat-- a great cause. The School of Music, great cause."

Ticket holders had to be in line at Keeneland by 7 a.m. The track even allowed them to camp out under the grandstand after Thursday's final race.

Keeneland President Nick Nicholson and Bill Samuels of Maker's Mark were also be on hand to sign the bottles.

Because of the unprecedented demand for Coach Cal's signature, another signing event is planned.

It's in the works to be held on the U.K. campus sometime after the spring meet at Keeneland ends.

At that time, Coach Cal will only sign empty bottles. They will be sold at Keeneland beginning Friday.
