Officer Durman's burial Tuesday came after a 25 mile procession that gave the people of Lexington a chance to salute and honor him.
Many of them lined up along the route, as police cruisers, firetrucks, and those who attended the funeral escorted the hearse through the city.
Hundreds lined Main Street as the procession passed by.
Some businesses, like Side Bar in Downtown Lexington, even closed down shop temporarily to show their support.
"It's synergy. And it's one more good person lost in our community," Martye Harper, who closed down shop was the procession passed said. "So we need to take a moment and give them a little respect."
It took about 45 minutes for the procession to pass through. Many of the officers in the procession had their families with them in their cruisers.
