Burglary at store caught on tape

We're getting a better look at the men police say carried out a burglary at a business late Sunday night.

The burglars went to great lengths to get inside the Foodland Market on Eureka Springs Drive in Lexington.

The store has been the target of thieves before.

The owner had installed Plexiglass windows to try to deter other burglars.

The surveillance video shows the burglars trying to get past the cameras.

One man was seen pacing in front of the store, and even looking directly at the camera at one point.

From inside, the video shows a brick being thrown through the front door.

Another man then came inside. He started grabbing cigarettes and money.

Police say in all, three men were involved in the burglary. They say two of them stayed outside to serve as lookouts, while the third went inside the store.

The two outside ran off on foot, while police say the third tried to hide until police showed up.

A witness later spotted the third suspect, before that person got away, along with the other two suspects.

Police found cartons of cigarettes scattered around the area.

Police dogs were able to track a scent over to Patchen Drive, but the dogs lost track of the suspects there.
