The man suspected of hitting and killing a Lexington police officer has been indicted by the grand jury.
33-year-old Glenn Doneghy is charged with murder, leaving the scene of an accident, second degree assault and four counts of third degree assault.
Authorities say he struck Lexington police officer Bryan Durman while he was on duty back on April 29.
Officer Durman had been responding to a noise complaint at Limestone and Alabama St. and was talking with a driver, when he was hit by an SUV.
Police say the driver of that SUV was Doneghy.
Investigators say the tires of the vehicle could be heard screeching as the vehicle left the scene, and that later when police caught up with Doneghy, they say he resisted arrest, even stabbing another officer before they were able to arrest him.
Doneghy's arraignment has been set for July.
