FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky Public Service Commission has scheduled a public hearing next week in Lexington to get the
public's reaction to a request for a rate increase by
Kentucky-American Water Co.
PSC Chairman David Armstrong said the members of the regulatory
body want to determine if the requested rate hike is fair, just and
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. on July 28 at Norsworthy
Auditorium on Main Street.
Kentucky-American has proposed the rate increase for all types
of customers to generate an additional $25.8 million in revenue per
year. The average monthly residential bill would increase from
$25.44 to $34.88, largely to help pay for construction of a new
water treatment plant and pipeline.
