Hundreds of people gathered Tuesday night to hold a special benefit concert for the young daughter of a Lexington murder victim.
The concert for 12-year-old Almira Fawn was held at the Kentucky Theater in downtown Lexington. Fawn is an up-and-coming star locally. Her mother, Umi Southworth, was found badly beaten behind her home on Meadowthorpe Avenue in June. Tickets sold at 20 dollars a piece.
The concert featured several local artists and others who know Almira Fawn.
"Music is a connecting tissue - and it all brought us together into the life of Almira Fawn in some way," said host Tom Martin.
The event raised more than $4,000 dollars for Almira Fawn.
