With just two more days left in Big Blue Slam, Kentucky trails Florida, 1,050 to 844.
“We certainly appreciate everyone who has braved the cold this week and stopped by our donor centers or blood drives. With temps warming up Thursday and Friday we hope to see even more of the Big Blue Nation out saving lives. This isn’t over with yet,” said Martha Osborne, Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment for Kentucky Blood Center (KBC).
As an extra thank you for giving blood, Thursday and Friday donors at the four KBC donor centers will receive a movie ticket to an area cinema. They will also receive a Big Blue Slam T-shirt and a chance to win a package for two to the SEC Tournament in Atlanta – two tickets for the Thursday through Sunday sessions in the Georgia Dome and a three-night stay at the Westin Peachtree Plaza.
Big Blue Slam continues through Friday. KBC donor centers will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and there will be a number of blood drives on the University of Kentucky campus and at various other locations throughout the region.
The sixth annual Big Blue Slam is a blood drive competition between Cat and Gator fans and KBC and LifeSouth Community Blood Center in Gainesville. Kentucky leads the competition 3 to 2.
