A big announcement by Lexington-based company, Big Ass Fans.
The manufacturing company broke ground on a new 72,000 square foot facility on Tuesday. The new building will create more than 150 jobs.
Governor Beshear as well as other local officials were on hand for the announcement. "We've been in the bluegrass since 1999," explains company President Carey Smith, "this 8 million dollar investment is not only for our company, but it's also for the community. There is a lot of talent here and we are as successful as we are because of the people in this area."
When the building is done Smith says there will be enough room for an extra 300 employees.
They company homes to have the project complete by March of 2013.
