LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Black Friday is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. This year, many stores are opening their doors earlier for shoppers, but that hasn't stopped lines from forming outside of many businesses.
"Why not just come out and try your luck," explains Austin Smith, the first person in line at the Best Buy in Hamburg, "you get the opportunity to get great items at cheap prices, who wouldn't come out!"
Best Buy is one of the many retail stores that are offering super discounts on hot ticket items. "I mean you can get an X-Box bundle for only $200, you can get a 40' tv for $180, it just doesn't get better than that!" explains Joe Rivera, the other first person in line at Best Buy. "Austin and I decided a while back that we were going to try our luck at black friday shopping. We found the store with the best deals and decided to go for it."
Best Buy plans to open their doors Friday at midnight.
According to AAA, more Americans will be taking to the road for the Thanksgiving holiday. They expect 43.7 million Americans to travel more than 50 miles for the holiday. That is up less than one percent from last year. Airline travel is expected to be up this year as well.
