Crowds got an early start for Black Friday in Lexington.
Stores opened earlier than ever. Toys 'R' Us opened at 9 p.m. Thursday. Walmart began its door buster sale at 10 p.m. Then, Best Buy and others opened at midnight.
Fayette Mall opened at 4 a.m., although some stores opened much earlier.
Some of the busiest spots around town were in Hamburg Pavilion and Nicholasville Road.
At Fayette Mall's parking lot, the Lexington Police department used its sky watch tower to look over part of the lot.
Officers reminded drivers they will be watching for red light runners and drivers who block intersections.
Shoppers are also reminded not to leave valuables in plain view inside vehicles and to place shopping bags in trunks.
