One thing led to another. That was the story with traffic on I-75 Thursday morning, near exit 111. Three accidents happened in a row, all at the same location. Drivers say black ice on the overpass was to blame.
The driver of a Ford Focus lost control in the left lane of the overpass and hit a Camry. The two cars then ran off the road. Gladys Mullins was driving the Camry and described what happened. "They hit black ice, they slid, and they knocked me way to the opposite side of the road."
Minutes later, a second car slid on the ice. "Then another one came along and she hit it and hit me from the front" said Mullins. The second car hit Mullins' Camry, that was already wrecked and sitting in the shoulder of the road.
A third accident quickly followed. In that one a pickup truck was trying to slow down but slid on the ice and crashed into a car in front of it.
Even with five cars total involved in these three accidents, no one was hurt.
