LEXINGTON, KY – The Young Professional’s Committee of the Lexington Public Library Foundation announced the fundraiser, “Bluegrass & Bourbon,” will be Friday, August 3, starting at 5:00 p.m., at the Lexington Public Library, 140 East Main Street.
Presented by Maker’s Mark, the fundraiser will feature live bluegrass entertainment by Driving Rain.

Proceeds from this fun event will benefit the Lexington Public Library Foundation, which enables the Library to give area residents new ideas, new skills and new ways to understand today’s complex world. “Donations and funds enhance library services. Your donation is an investment in your library - and your community,” Marty Chiles, a member of the Lexington Public Library Foundation Board, explained. “The Young Professional’s Committee dedicates itself to supporting the continued expansion and enhancement of the Lexington Public Library, its programs and services, as a major community asset, providing individuals and companies the ability to compete in the society of today and succeed in the landscape of tomorrow.”
“In working with the library, our mission is to serve the citizen’s of the entire county and to guarantee the civic right of all Fayette County citizens to information – regardless of their personal, social, educational or economic differences,” Mr. Chiles said. “We will achieve this vision by working closely with Lexington’s young professional community to develop a strong and lasting relationship with the library. We believe this relationship will benefit projects the library needs and those we find inspiring.”
